Why distraction is helping me to get through this pandemic

A lot is happening in this world right now and we are all finding ways to keep our mental health sane. A few days back I was so captivated with the news worldwide and it was disheartening to see what we all are going through. It was affecting my mental health. I wanted to do something to increase my productivity to get things done.

The only way to do this was by distracting myself from all the news. I wanted to shift my mind to another direction so I can get my things done.

This is what I did

Writing my to-do list. By doing this, I got the boost to complete my tasks like a game where we have to complete tasks to reach other levels. After completing my daily to-do this is what I do:

Listening to some soothing music.

Have a nice relaxing shower.

Watching a chill documentary or series.

Watch Sunset and calling friend/s.

Practice Meditation and gratitude.

Writing letters to loved ones.

When I am In the mood and able to handle pandemic news then after that I see news.

These are just distracting techniques that I am using. Maybe I am just fooling my mind that everything is alright. And this is helping me.
