Why Metaverse is more popular than Beyonce
Yesterday while surfing youtube I came across the Wall Street Journal — Trapped in the Metaverse video. In that video WSJ’s Joanna Stern spends the next 24 hours in Virtual reality and she shares her experience.
What is Metaverse? Meta, Microsoft, and more are defining it as a Virtual world that will usher in the next phase of the internet.
I’m so fascinated with the idea of Metaverse only where you can do almost anything you can imagine from meeting friends in VR to working/learning in VR.
Since the Pandemic, VR is the way where we connected with our friends and family, worked, learned, and shopped. Our brains actually can’t distinguish between Virtual reality and actual reality to some extent which makes it easier to trick our brain that today we socialized and had a productive day.
Metaverse is excelling at a faster pace than ever, here we start our day by greeting Good morning, exercising, working/learning, socializing, shopping, and end our day by meditating session in VR. The day is not far from when we celebrate Republic day in Metaverse where we will hoist our Indian flag in our avatars with the same zeal and enthusiasm.
And adding to that the latest big real estate market isn’t in major cities but in Metaverse. Investors are buying digital property. Sounds interesting!! But why digital property? Because many people are joining metaverse and spending their time on Virtual reality playing games, exercising, socializing in the Virtual cafe/bar, shopping and meditating and even on virtual reality it requires space to do that and hence investors are buying digital property to build that space as real as possible to experience something new which being in the familiar zone. Suppose I buy a piece of digital property and build a gaming arena where people in their avatars come and play or a shop where people can come to my shop and buy products that will be delivered to them at their doorstep in the meantime.
